For the Bread & Circuses festival, the round stage in Trier's spectacular amphitheatre is transformed into a scene of dramatic combat. This presentation of the life led by Roman gladiators is the only one of its kind in the world. In an academically researched mixture of entertainment and athleticism, artists, acrobats and gladiators demonstrate our latest understanding of Roman combat to an arena of spectators. This year's event will include a re-enactment of 'The Battle of Hercules'.
